Hi! I’m Ruth A. Casie and Judy has asked me about my writing space. I love my writing space. Over the years, I had a small corner in our family room on a folding table or used the kitchen table. Every time I finished up for the day, whether working on something for my office or writing my stories, I felt compelled to pack everything up and put it away. It was a shared space and if I wanted the kids to clean up after themselves then so did I.
As our three children grew up and started out on their own I left their rooms intact. Our daughters live nearby us in New Jersey. Several years have passed since our son, the last one to leave, has gone. He stayed in Boston after graduating college. While I miss them all, they all move back home whenever Ari comes to visit, about every six to eight weeks. But that didn’t stop me. I’ve finally taken over one of their rooms, Cori’s our middle daughter, and made it my own.
Sometimes Ari uses my office when he’s home to catch up on business. My daughters like the quiet. My grandchildren love the color. But I know they’re only staying the weekend and it will be mine again, all mine!
