Friday's Feast 146

.... and it's actually on a Friday! Can you believe it??? ;-)

Without further ado, I present this week's version of Friday's Feast. Join us in playing, click on the link, and leave a message so we can find you. You can also let us know here so we can go and enjoy playing with you on your blog.

Appetizer
Name something you think is “the best.” My family, to be sure. I have the best husband, the best kids... what more could any person ask for?

Soup
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 highest), how stressed are you today? maybe a negative 5? Unless things are manic around here, I rarely get stressed. We stay very busy with our work and there have been times I would get a bit depressed because I couldn't seem to find time for my writing. I've been getting up a little earlier, though, and doing the writing... so that's working out well. I think having the best husband (see number one) is one of the key's to remaining relatively stress free.

Salad
What kind of cleanser do you use to wash your face?
I recently discovered Age Perfect, by L'Oreal. It feels so luxurious on my face and it smells good to boot!

Main Course
Tonight is a blue moon! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.” Hmmmm... eating fried oyster po'boys and not putting on the weight you had diligently been losing? Nope.. that's not it. Trust me.. it happens EVEN in a blue moon! Sigh. If you are ever in Apalachicola, Florida, go to The Grill and try it. If you like oysters... which I do!

Dessert
When was the last time it rained where you live? We actually had our first rain since February 1 yesterday afternoon. It was wonderful. I wanted to get out and play in it! And, they are predicting afternoon thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon as well. Let's hope. Our county had just instituted a Category 4 response to the drought as far as watering goes. Fortunately, home gardens are exempt, so my tomatoes, peppers and herbs are doing well. I have the feeling I'll be making lots and lots of salsa in a few months. If you want a jar, let me know!

Happy Friday Morning. Oh Yum, Salsa! I may have to try my hand at making some when our veggies are ready for pickin'. Hope you enjoy your day!

  2. Oh my goodness!! That's a long dry spell...no wonder it's a category 4!! Hope it continues to rain --mildly, no flooding of course. It's good for crops [and our budget by domino effect]

  11. I'm not sure what you've got on your blog that boggs down my computer so much...it sure makes my computer grumpy though. LOL

Thanks for answering my Fiona question. That will be fun reading your book and remembering the 3WW when I get to them. hee hee

DH & I are both very small people. We just finally tried this Bar-B-Que place that we had been dying to try out. It's this guy who pulls his great big bar-b-que pit to the empty lot and sets up for the weekends. Everyone says his is the best. So we go there and we're trying to figure out what to buy...note there is no menu and no price list either! They sell sandwiches & by the pound. So I suggest we get a pulled pork sandwich, but since we have no idea how big the sandwich is we ask the guy how big they were. Anyway he talks us into two sandwiches. We get it home and sure enough there was enough food to feed a small army! DH & I shared one sandwich with leftovers (DD won't touch the stuff!) and had the second sandwich the next day. I'm sure that one sandwich might not be enough for Big Jim (he was a very big guy!) but next time, we'll just get one sandwich. Live & learn.

  17. A negative 5? Really? That's so awesome. I wish I could figure out how to have negative stress in my life...

maybe if I took a road trip to visit a certain writing pal in Georgia I could learn the secret ;)

  19. Hi Judy, not until now did I realize that this is Tropical Storm Barry. There hasn't been much wind at all but lots of rain. The weather is saying between 5-7 inches in some places. =O)

Neither rain nor storm stoped the United States Post Office today. My book arrived. Thank you Judy - I've been waiting a long time to be able to dig into this one. I've heard so many good things about it. Thanks. Perfect, rainy day and curl up with a good book conditions.

What more could a gal ask for?
