Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: My Best Teacher

Today's topic is a story about my best teacher. First, I've had some awesome teachers, so it's really hard to pick ONE best teacher. Second, I've been out of school for a long, long, LONG time... so, yeah, there's that. There are a lot of my teachers' names that I just don't remember any more.

However, I have very fond memories of my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Purser. She always had a book corner for when we had finished work and was waiting, where we could slip away and read. We had regular silent reading time as well as journalling and, in addition, every day after lunch, she would read aloud to us from a novel. I always looked forward to our next installment.

One of the books I remember from my silent reading was The Lute Player by Norah Lofts.... I think it's time to reread it.

  1. Mrs Purser sounds lovely. Teachers are so undervalued.
