Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: My Greatest Weakness

Unlike last week's challenge, I have absolutely no problem coming up with my weak things in my life... the only problem lies in which one to choose as the greatest weakness. So.... I've decided not to.... here are a few in no specific order:

I am non-confrontational...to a fault. I've been told I let people walk all over me. And, I have a hard time saying no to people. I'm working on this and trying not to extend myself too much. One of the problems is there are just too many things I want to do and not enough time to do them all. And... I hate feeling like I let people down.

I also tend not to be suspicious when I should be. I take everything at face value, and I've been burned more than once by it. I want to believe the best in people. And, unfortunately, that's not always a good thing to be in this day and time.

I'm not the world's best housekeeper in the world. Again, there are so many more things I would rather do than clean house. It's not that my house is dirty, but it's cluttery. Again... so many things!!! lol

So... there are a few of my weaknesses. What about you?

  1. We had the same answer re: having trouble saying no to others.

  2. My mother had a poem on the wall when I was a kid that said something along the lines of dust and dirt can wait but my kids can't (it was more eloquent) and I think of that when the house is a mess (my version of a disaster isn't the same as my mother in law's who swears my house is a wreck - it's not) and someone complains. I can't make the dogs put their toys away any more than I can the cats put the jingle balls away...or the pet fur that multiplies at night...

  3. I prefer a house that's lived in compared to a museum. If everything is spotless it's not a home.

  4. It's only really been in the past year or so that I've started to get better at standing up to people. It's so hard though! I like to keep the peace!

  5. I probably take horrible advantage of your inability to say no .... sorry :-/

Nothing wrong with clutter. If I didn't live with my husband, I'd be far more cluttered than I am! It's the dirt that the issue. Clutter is just a little to many things to love :-)

  6. I tend to collect things, so my areas end up cluttered (though generally not dirty as such. And I will put off cleanup things when I don't have the energy for them, so some things -- like laundry -- can get piled pretty high. (This is especially true if you've recently spent a week without water or power, and if you have a ten-year-old who puts on five layers of clean clothes every time he wants to go out in the snow and then dumps them all on floor when he comes back inside. But I digress...)

  7. I feel like I could have written this. You are so not alone.

  8. I have a lot of clutter. I keep things clean, but I can find anything I need in the midst of my chaos so I'm okay with it.

  9. I also collect clutter, which drives my husband mad.

  10. I hear you about not wanting to let people down to the point of sometimes letting yourself get walked on. I can be like that, too. About suspicion, though, I'm the opposite. I'm way too suspicious of everyone and everything. Must find a happy medium. LOL!
