Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Goals for 2021

It's a New Year (and I think we are all happy to see the end of 2020!). Although, I do have to say, other than not being able to see my mother (she's in a nursing home, but doing well) in person (we zoom every day...thank goodness for technology), this year for my husband and I hasn't been so bad. We both work from home anyway, so nothing changed there. We actually ended up saving money because we didn't eat out as much! So, part of our goal for this year is to continue on that way...even if things really open up! It's actually better for us healthwise as well as $$$$$ wise! Which is a nice segue into my second goal.

Getting back on track (literally) with tracking my food in my Weight Watchers app. I have to admit, the last month I have eaten everything I wanted to eat! And... have enjoyed it thoroughly. But it's time to get back in the saddle and lose the rest of the weight I need to lose!

What about you?

  1. I'm pretty sure we ended up spending MORE this year on eating out because I felt a driving need to support our local restaurants. I also did all my Christmas shopping using local merchants, so it was more expensive there as well. But you do what you gotta do!

We'll support each other on WW. "You can do it!"

  2. We did a lot of shopping at local places, too. Lots of supporting local. I know it helped, but not always the budget. Lol. Oh well.

  3. I need to lose some weight, too. You're not alone there!

  4. December was the month of comfort foods and sweets in my house. I'm a savory gal, but I sure did a lot of baking tempting treats and cookies. I'm back on track for this year. In addition, we started supporting the family-owned restaurants nearby. Tuesday is called "Tuesday Takeout" and we order small meals from them.

    All the best!

  5. Breaking that habit of eating out can be rough. COVID has definitely helped with that for sure. We still get dinner one night a week, but we're not getting lunch on the weekends or anything either, which is a huge improvement for us.

  6. I'm on a new drug for diabetes that gets me off insulin. It's helped me lose some weight. I wish you well with this.

  7. Very relatable! Good luck with your weight loss goals. (I'm in much the same boat, though I'm not using WW myself.)

  8. I'm trying to get my health in order. It's always encouraging to know others are doing the same.
My MIL is a long term care home, so we can't visit here either. We have to use Skype. It's tough on her.

  9. I'm glad to hear 2020 wasn't that bad for you. For me, it could have been a lot worse, too. I'm a loner by nature, so staying home in my free time is usual for me. I feel very lucky that my day job remained solid, even though the stress level there was higher than usual due to new COVID procedures, but I'm glad they try to keep us safe. I know things have been a lot tougher for many people, so I'm counting my blessings.

  10. Great goals and glad you weren't impacted by 2020 to bad. My household survived okay and we kinda did what you did. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with your weight loss. I'm right there with you.

  11. I think we spent more on eating out as all our favourite restaurants started doing delivery! Good luck with your weight loss.
