Wednesday Weekly Challenge: Books I Keep Meaning to Read But Haven't

I love today's topic... and I will not bore you with ALL the books on my TBR list (many of which I've gleaned from this blogging challenge!!), but here are a few:

I loved HBO's Game of Thrones, so top on my list is the entire series... this is the set I bought (it was on sale and my daughter had given me a gift card for my birthday). I have not yet had time to even read the first line of the first book, but when I DO have time, they are waiting for me!

I'm also gathering as many of JD Robb's IN DEATH books as I can. I've read several and loved every one of them, but I want to be able to sit down and read the series from the first book. (I do love series!)

All of Cassandra Clare's MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series (as well as THE INFERNAL DEVICES.. but I've read most of that trilogy). It's been a long time since I've read any of them... and I know she's come out with more. She also has a series out that I've not read any in ...THE DARK ARTIFICES. Yeah, that's on my list too.

Leaving the myriad books that make up series, I also have on my TBR list:

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
The Color Purple by Alice Walker

These last three are the only books I haven't read from this list. They have been on my TBR list for a long time, though... too many books, not enough time.

What are some you still haven't read?

  1. Great list. I'm debating reading the Game of Thrones books. I never got into the TV show, but hey, I'm willing to give them a try.

  2. I really liked The Book Thief, The Color Purple, and The Kite Runner. Happy reading!

Game of Thrones is something I was curious about, but it turned out to be too violent for me. I hope you have a different experience with it, though.

    My post.

  4. You have a nice GoT set. I only made it through the book one and 1/2 so far.

  5. I've read the first GOT novel, but that's as far as I've gotten. Will eventually finish the series though!

A friend of mine LOVES the In Death series and it really makes me want to read it.

Oooh... The Book Thief was so good and nothing like I had expected.

  6. Oh Geez, I forgot about Cassandra Clare's MORTAL INSTRUMENTS and THE INFERNAL DEVICES. those should also be on my list, thanks for the reminder. Enjoyed your list, thanks for sharing.

  7. The Kite Runner and The Book Thief were both part of our local library's annual Everybody Read event, but I haven't read either of them. (I did read, and enjoy, The Glass Castle which was the book selection of a different year.)

I've never read Game of Thrones and honestly I'm not sure I'm ready for that sort of commitment! (I also meant to re-read the Wheel of Time at one point, and... yeah, stalled out on that one.)

    My list is here:
