Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Books I Discovered on Social Media

I used to work at the library, so most of the books I have or have read, I learned about there. Working with Goddess Fish Promotions and Long and Short Reviews, I found out about way too many to count online. I'm not going to focus on those, however. I'm going to limit myself just to a few of the books I've discovered on Facebook.

I spend way too much time on Facebook - partly because of work and partly because it's a great way to keep up with my kids and grandkids. It's also a wonderful way to find out what friends are reading.

The latest book I picked up because of Facebook is Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis A. Balch. My friend Marianne highly recommended it, so I ordered it. I've discovered some interesting things so far, and I've only just brushed the surface.

Another book I found out about via Facebook (plus had the chance to meet a really wonderful woman) is 100 Days of Goodness-A Rockstar Super Hero Goddess Journal by Beth Hallman - you can buy it here and you can check out Beth's Facebook here.

The next one is in a roundabout way... Game of Thrones. My daughters (and various others on Facebook) turned me on to the show...and then to the books. I'm going to start on the first book in the series as soon as this last season is over!

I first read Charlotte Hubbard when we toured her at Goddess Fish and fell in love with her Amish romances! Recently, Marianne saw on Facebook that several of Charlotte's books were on sale for only $0.99 each! My Nook now boasts two complete series!! Thanks, Marianne, Facebook, and Charlotte! (if you like your romance on the clean side, I definitely recommend all of Charlotte's works!)

What about you? What books have you discovered on social media?

  4. Well...I've told the few people I've visited that I couldn't think of one book I had described through social media because most of my "browsing" was like you, the library catalog, or keeping track of certain authors because of being a librarian but...

looking at all of your great blogs this morning...I have seen several books through social media I might like.

  5. I follow a lot of authors and aspiring authors on Twitter (I used to do the same on Facebook, but I dropped off of FB a while back) and so my feed is frequently full of intriguing suggestions. And I am definitely amused that this week's prompt is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy!
