The Writer's View

Thank you so much for having me on your blog, I’m so excited to be here!

Here are some pictures-of my writing space and the view outside my window.

My home office is on the main floor of our home. We were lucky when we found this house that there are actually two home offices-and since my husband and I both work from home, this was ideal. And the fact that his office is upstairs and mine downstairs, makes things a little easier too ;-).

The view outside my window is part of our neighbour's deck and in the summer the wisteria is in full bloom and I get to enjoy it! It also overlooks the forest/ravine at the end of our house.

I’m usually in my office in the morning after I drop the kids off at school. Our youngest just turned three, so she’s only in preschool for a little over two hours. So that time goes very quickly. I usually divide that time between emails/writing. Then I pick her up and it’s time for lunch and if I’m lucky, she’ll take a little nap and I can catch a little more work time. Then it’s off to pick up my son for 3:00pm and there isn’t any more work happening in here until after bedtime. Thankfully my kids do still go to bed early since they wake up so early (5:30-6:00am!).

I love having a neat and tidy office space and a clutter-free desk. It has to be clean when I start a new project and then it does deteriorate as my deadline approaches...

Happy Holidays!
Victoria

About the Author:
Victoria James always knew she wanted to be a writer and in grade five, she penned her first story, bound it (with staples) and a cardboard cover and did all the illustrations herself. Luckily, this book will never see the light of day again.

In high school she fell in love with historical romance and then contemporary romance. After graduating University with an English Literature degree, Victoria pursued a degree in Interior Design and then opened her own business. After her first child, Victoria knew it was time to fulfill the dream of writing romantic fiction.

Victoria is a hopeless romantic who is living her dream, penning happily-ever-after's for her characters in between managing kids and the family business. Writing on a laptop in the middle of the country in a rambling old Victorian house would be ideal, but she's quite content living in suburbia with her husband, their two young children, and very bad cat.

Victoria loves connecting with readers, you can find her online at www.VictoriaJames.ca and on Twitter: @vicjames101
