A Busy Day

For those of you who don't know, DH and I own our own business. He started it twelve years ago, but it was only a weekend, part-time business until he retired earlier this year. Now it's a full time concern we both work at. It doesn't leave me much time for my writing (that's the downside) but it does mean we are together, staying busy and active, and not having to scrape and scrimp trying to make it on just retirement and social security. Good thing, too, because we have a daughter starting college in about a week!

Yesterday was the busiest day we've had in a long time. DH and I were both exhausted when we came in last night. It was good, though. One thing about physical labor: it's hard work, but normally a good night's sleep refreshes and revives. We've both had jobs which were not as physical, but, instead, were very stressful. I almost always woke up just as tired as when I went to bed. But, this morning I woke up at 5:30 alert and ready to face another day. And, it promises to be another busy one... we have three jobs to do.

If you want to learn more about our business, check out our website. I just finished it Monday and it's not half bad, if I do say so myself!

It's 6:23 now and I want to try to get some writing in before DH wakes up and the day begins. Have a great Tuesday, all.

  1. My DH just started his own business last year. We're both 38 with a 3 year old and DH is in his last year of college. (late bloomers) I'd love to hear more about what it is like to work beside your Husband through these years. I'm still at the "should I or shouldn't I" phase when it comes to joining up with him. I fear loosing my own identity. =O(

  2. Hey Judy,

I'd check out your website, but I couldn't find the link... Am I missing something?

Hang in there! Sure hope you're able to write more soon (you should be able to as winter approaches, right?)
