Green Sister 7

Janna climbed into her little yellow bug and switched the key. She was relieved when "Sunshine" purred into action. Sometimes the car seemed to have a mind of its own when it came to starting, so she was relieved that today "Sunshine" seemed to be cooperative. Maybe driving would help her concentrate and come up with a plan.

She pulled in front of Mark's apartment building and still didn't have a clue how she was going to approach him. Figuring she would just have to wing it when the time came, she got out, locked the door, and was turning around when she was hit from the side by a force that knocked her onto the ground.

"Oh, my God, I'm so sorry," a deep male voice said through her daze. "Let me help you up."

Janna untangled the leash that had wrapped around her legs and pushed the exuberant horse-sized dog off her, brushing aside the hand that tried to help her.

"I'm okay," she said, as she got to her feet and checked out her arm. She looked up into a face that was vaguely familiar.

"Janna? Janna Thomason? Is that you?"

"Yes, it was the last time I checked my driver's license. Don't I know you?"

"Yeah, we went to high school together. I'm Mark LaRue."
