Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: A Typical Day in My Life

My days vary depending on the day of the week. As a cancer patient, many of my days are centered around doctor visits. But, taking those out of the equation... here is a breakdown of a typical day in my life (beware... it's not terrribly exciting!)

I get up at 6 am to sign onto my computer to check to check to see if all the tours for the day are up at Goddess Fish Promotions ... ps. that's the website for the company, which has the links to our tours.. check us out if you haven't already!

Once I've done that part of my work, I do my brain-recharging with Wordle, Connections, and Tightrope. Fun games... try them out if you haven't already!

Then my morning chores for work: promoting the tours on Facebook and Twitter, sending out invoices, posting tours that have been paid for, sending out invitations to tours that are curently available (if you aren't a host for us, why not? Sign up here and check out the benefits. :-)

After a shower and getting dressed, the rest of my day is taken up with the myriad of chores that comes along with owning your own business... emails, filling tours, working on our other website. With new tours coming in every day, there is always something to do. I joke with my husband that if we ever get to where I don't have something work related to do, it's a bad day because that will mean we don't have any business.

I do break this part of my day up, because if I don't I'll sit in my recliner all day long without moving anything other than my fingers... not at all healthy! So, I work for an hour, then get up and do something for 15 minutes... watering the flowers outside, tidying up inside, household chores that seem to develop overnight....there is always something to do. And my body and my house both benefit from 15 minutes every hour.

Fortunately, working for myself means I can also take breaks when need be... as long as the work gets done, I'm not chained to a 9-5 routine. I have a group of friends I lunch with weekly, play trivia at a local pizzaria every Tuesday night, etc. And, we have a place at the coast so I can pack up the laptop and work down there... but the routine is the same (even though I might take longer breaks and enjoy the beach!)

With getting up so early... i'm nearly always in be by 8:30 (except Tueday nights!!!)...so.. there you have it. A typical day in my life.

  1. I love to get up early and I enjoy going to bed early. Though I worry I'll be awake all night if I go before 10pm. If I thought I'd sleep I'd go at 8.30. Also, brain recharging is so important. It helps keep the mind from slowing down.
