Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: A Strange or Useless Talent I Have

I absolutely love this topic.

Strange AND useless talent: I have monkey toes (so did Mama). In that, I can pick up things with my toes. Drop a pencil? Who can be bothered by leaning down (esp. if I'm already sitting). Monkey toes to the rescue. And, it helps that I'm always barefoot in my house (I hate wearing shoes). So.. yeah, there that is.

Another strange talent I have (but this is defintely not useless).... I cook like I'm on an episode of Chopped. Don't know what's for dinner? What's in the pantry I can throw together? My latest "creation" was a Pumpkin Pie Pudding. At our place at the coast, the neighborhood has "Thirsty Thursday" potlucks. One dish I make often (and get raves about) is my Tipsy Banana Pudding. However, this past Thursday I only had one banana and no desire to go to the store. So... looked in the pantry. Hmmm... a can of pumpkin pie filling. My brain went, I wonder.

Made two boxes of instant vanilla pudding, added the pumpkin pie mix until it tasted right (I'm big on tasting). Then layered it with vanilla wafers and topped with whipped cream. Didn't bring any home, and now have instructions to bring it for our Thanksgiving community meal.

Sometimes, I create something for dinner, and Bob will go, "This is great. Can you make it again next week?".... Probably not. I have no idea what I did...just added and tasted until it tasted right. So sorry!! LOL

  2. I wish my toes could do that!

And that’s a great skill to have in the kitchen.
