WWBC: My Favorite Hobby and Why

Join me in today's blogging challenge: My Favorite Hobby and Why.

My lifelong favorite hobby is reading... it's been the one constant in my life since I learned to read. I LITERALLY have books in every room in my house! Friends and family always know that if all else fails, a gift card to a book store is always a hit. Anything book related: ditto. I have tote bags with book sayings. Cups. Here are a couple of my favorites (gifts from my daughters):

There are other hobbies that come and go: Hobbies I Used to Have and NonBookish Hobbies, but reading will always be #1 in my heart.

  1. I'm the same with books all over. My bookshelves are bursting. I start reading one and buy three more so the TBR pile is quite large.

    1. same! I tell Bob it's not that I have too many books - it's that I don't have enough bookcases!! lol

  2. Reading is a popular topic this week. I tend to decorate with books. Wanted to paint our stairs like a pile of books, but hubby wasn't into that. Checked out your other posts. Cross-stitch and community theatre are great. Thanks for sharing today.

    2. I have seen stairs done like that... I would love that (if I had enough stairs to make it feasable). Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Reading is imperative for me. It's weird, but I have to read something every day or I feel off. Hahaha - I love to collect bookish things as well. I have Funko Pops for two of my favorite series (The Witcher and R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt series), among many other things.

    1. I love those things.... we're trying to declutter though, so I think I will admire them from afar. Maybe I'll start a Pinterest list and collect pictures of them instead. And I LOVE Witcher... will have to check out Salvatore's series.

    2. We did a big declutter before our remodel a couple of years ago, so I'm choosy about what I buy now. But I had to have Geralt and Jaskier. LOL If you like epic fantasy, R. A. Salvatore is fantastic.

  4. I love reading. However, I must admit I use the computer so much that I've also gotten to where I'd rather have an ebook for my Kindle or tablet. Don't tell the hard cover books gods on me, ok?

    1. I love my ebooks (and audio books) for traveling, but there's still nothing like the feel of a book in my hand (or at the beach).

    1. I did until LaSR and GF got so busy I had to retire... couldn't do both. I miss working in the library. However, I am on the board of our library now, so bring a unique perspective to the deliberations.

I'm a minimalist, so I got rid of all my paperback books and am solely on ebooks. But I liked all your book swag!

    1. I have a box of books I'm taking to our bookstore in town... it was an effort to cull them down. Of course, I'll just get credit to buy more books, so.. there is that. LOL

  8. Oh, I *adore* those mugs! I'm definitely with you on reading; my TBR pile is teetering on the edge of collapsing under its own weight and becoming a very erudite black hole.
