Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Something "Lucky" that happened to me

Not sure I really believe in luck, but I do believe that some things are meant to be. And, that things we do set us up for these things to happen... so perhaps it was "lucky" that I did this or that. My husband says it's amazing that the harder he works, the luckier he gets.

One of these things was many years ago. I had quit my job after Bob and I got married and was a SAHM with two teenagers. I began concentrating on my writing and joined The Writer's University. Luckily enough, I was in a class or two with Marianne Atkins, and we ...again... luckily enough hit it off.

So, when Marianne was having trouble finding reviewers for her short fiction, she came up with the idea of a website that would review both long and short pieces of fiction.... and luckily asked ME if I wanted to help with it...(her exact words, as I remember, began "I have an idea..."). And so, Long and Short Reviews was born (the original name was The Long and Short of It. I miss that name.)

Then again luckily enough she had organized her own blog tour for a new release and realized that there was a market out there for affordable book tours. Once again she said, "I have an idea..." and luckily we now also have Goddess Fish Promotions.

Luck? Fate? Whatever is was, I'm forever grateful for it.

  1. Marianne here ... lol... I always have ideas. I just don't always have someone willing to go along with them. I'm glad I was lucky enough to find you, too :-)
