Witches, cats, pumpkin pies and murder!

I’m Evelyn Grayson and if you’d told me by the time I was 23, I’d have lost both my parents in a mysterious accident, moved in with the coolest Aunt ever, lived in a magical town, and I was a witch, I would have said you were crazy. Funny thing is, you’d be right.

Camille Stenson, the grumpiest woman in Saltwater Cove is set on making this year’s Halloween celebrations difficult for everyone, but when she turns up dead and my best friend is on the suspect list, I have no choice but to find out whodunit and clear her name.

Amongst the pumpkin carving, abandoned houses, and apple bobbing, it soon becomes apparent dark magic is at play and I must use all my newfound witches’ abilities to find the killer before another spell is cast.

Step into Evelyn Grayson’s magical world in the first book of the Melting Pot Café series, a fun and flirty romantic paranormal cozy mystery where the spells are flowing, and the adventure is just beginning.

If you like witty witches, cheeky talking cats, and magical murder mysteries, then you’ll love Polly Holmes’ light-hearted Melting Pot Café series.

Tyler offered to drive back to Saltwater Cove and the way my insides were jumping around like nobody’s business, I was glad to hand the keys over. I glanced at Tyler and his hands were clenched so tight around the wheel I could see every muscle in his forearm and hands pop. His eyes were focussed on the road ahead and he barely blinked. I sat with my phone to my ear, the dial tone drumming my eardrum.

Come on, Harriet, pick up…pick up…PICK UP. Why are you not answering your phone? Oh God, please don’t have let anything happen to her. I’ll never forgive myself if she’s hurt or worse killed because I let her talk me into leaving her alone.

“Hello, this is Harriet.”

Her chirpy voice was a vast contrast to the raging storm fighting it out inside my stomach.

“Harriet, where have you been? I’ve tried to call four times now. You had me worried sick. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, Evelyn.” Harriet paused and tutted down the line. “I was blow drying my hair. A woman is allowed to have a shower and freshen up, you know.”

I ran my hand through my hair and pressed the base of my neck. “Of course, you are. Listen, I need you to do me a really big favour.”

“Sure, what’s going on?”

“I don’t have time to explain now, but Tyler and I are on our way back into town―”

“What do you mean, on your way back into town? Where did you go? I thought you were having drinks at The Four Brothers.” Harriet’s voice lost its chirpiness and was now replaced with a wavering uncertainty.
