Saturday Seven: A Blast from the Past

Hosted by Long and Short Reviews

I absolutely loved comic strips growing up. The very first thing I would do when the paper came was turn to the "funnies".... cubam missile crisis? Eh, who cares... what's Lil Abner up to? So, I thought I would share with you some of my favorites:

Perhaps my very favorite is the perennial favorite, Peanuts. I loved Charlie Brown and thought Lucy was such a brat. I would have been his friend (even if I didn't have red hair.)

Lil Abner, Daisy Mae, Sadie Hawkins Day.... what's not to love!

Loved the adventure in this one... and his wrist watch phone (we have those now...he was ahead of his time!)
Nancy and Sluggo were a fun pair.

Bil Keane and his family are like old friends.

Started in the 20s and went on into the 70s... she never aged.

I love this one even now as an adult (maybe even more than I did as a kid)!

  1. I simply adored family circus when I was a kid. Still do, in fact!

  2. Same here. Family Circus was such a fun comic strip. Peanuts was great, too.

I'm not too familiar with the rest of them, but I would like to read more.

  3. I think a lot of the comics appeal on different levels to different ages (in particular B.C.). Great choices!

  4. I loved Garfield also. I used to only read the comics and the Scramble section, with rare forays into the classified ads, lol.
