Goodies from Florida and a vote

I received my special gift from Kristy Kiernan, of Debutante Ball fame. She sent me a super red Naples, FL, baseball cap, a nifty ‘gator toe keychain (I LOVE keychains), a great Naples magnet, and a wonderful picture frame. Yep, that’s her in the frame. She suggested putting someone else in the frame, but I kinda think I want to keep her there… then I can put it on the shelf along with her book, which is being released on March 6 and is available on pre-order here. Just look at this great cover.

Speaking of debut novels, my good friend, Marianne suggested today that I settle with one of the many half-written novels I have and FINISH ONE. Probably a good idea before I got starting something new. So, since my desktop is fried and I don’t know if I’ll be able to retrieve any of either of the half-finished ones, I’ll leave it up to a vote: Which novel should I finish first?

Lizzie (working title): [Scottish historical, 18th century] Lizzie Baillie has fallen in love with Duncan Graham. Unknown to her, he is a member of the Montrose clan, who burned her family home, Castlecary, in 1645, during the Civil War. Ever since that date, the Baillies have considered the Montrose clan, and all its members, as enemies.

Fiona’s Dream: [contemporary] Following the death of her fiancé and parents, Fiona returns to her hometown and begins an antique business with her business partner. Fiona has dreamed of utilizing the oldest house in town as a combination tea room/antique store that would also be suitable for receptions, parties, etc. Unfortunately, a murder in the house may put the end to not only Fiona’s dream, but her freedom.

Okay… everybody vote: Lizzie or Fiona?

  1. I vote for Lizze because I live a block away from Montrose Ave. in Chicago!

BTW, stop by to see my sorry attempt at a "short story." lol

  2. I vote for Lizze because I really like those "historical fiction" stories...but I want to read the other one too! So you'll have to finish both.
