2007-- A New Beginning

I hope everyone had a happy, but above all, safe New Year's Eve. We had planned to go to a friend's cookout, but it was rained out. Not complaining, though, because we have really needed the rain. I made potato and bacon soup and we indulged ourselves in a wonderful murderfest from The Biography Channel. Hours of Poirot and Midsomer Murders, with a dollop of Holmes for dessert. (No, not Katie! Sheesh.) Then a quick flick over to watch the ball drop and be glad we weren't in that madhouse that was Times Square.

Today we are planning the traditional meal of ham, blackeyed peas w/hog jowl, cracklin' cornbread, and rice. Mama will probably bring over some greens (guess I have to call her and tell her, huh?) Other than that... I want to finish getting the downstairs living room back in order and get the tree out of the house. Then, I'm planning on being lazy... except for some writing I want to do. What are your plans for the day?

For something fun: Find your Dead Celebrity Soul Mate. Here's mine:

Have a great day!

  2. Um... pig jowl is not on my list of traditional dinner. Ever. Sorry...

Who is that dead celebrity? Am I really that clueless? Could be that my head is still stuffed.

    Happy New Year!

  5. Happy new year!

I spent the afternoon on the couch watching bios and knitting.

Hog jowl?! The cornbread sounds good, though. We're having a pork roast.

  8. Rudolph Valentino. I'm an idiot... I knew he looked familiar! I got Whatshisname that made it to the north pole first. Woo.

And then he turned me down. Nothing like being rejected by a dead guy! LOL...
