Today's question is "Do You Follow Celebrity Gossip? Why or why Not?"
The short answer is "not any more."
As a teenager... man... of course at the time my "celebrities" were the singers I liked. Anyone else old enough to remember Tiger Beat and Sixteen magazines? Way before the days of the internet, those were our only eyes into the world of the oh-so-gorgeous guys I crushed over. I would read them over and over...until they fell apart (or I took them apart for the pictures. In fact, I'm pretty sure I had this same picture on my wall):
As I got older, I'd sometimes peruse the fan magazines, but only while waiting in the check out line. As a young adult and with a better understanding of paying bills... the price of the magazine (most of the time) seemed like an extravagance. And, I was beginning to realize that maybe you couldn't always believe what you see in print.
Now, at the ripe old age of (mumble, mumble, mumble... not that the teenage comment above probably clued you in), I find that I don't really care any more what celebrities for the most part are up to. Yeah, if I see something online while I'm working, I might click over to see what they are saying, but... meh.
How about you?
When I was younger there was always some poor celebrity splashed across the front page of a newspaper (remember those?) having their personal lives unravelled for the public's amusement. Back then, it made sense to keep up with what was going on because it's all anyone seemed to talk about
ReplyDeleteThat’s a good answer, Judy!
ReplyDeleteHah! I remember picking up issues of Teen People as a kid. I did like anything related to Melissa Joan Hart & Jennifer Love Hewitt..
ReplyDeleteI remember those magazines, Judy. We also had posters all over our walls. As I got a bit older, Jan Michael Vincent and Bruce Boxleitner hung in my closet. With my sister it was Jefferson Airplane and other musicians. Thanks for visiting my blog today.
