Anna was in denial. Her father's will had been read finally and revealed he'd made her stepmother excutrix and hence regent. While she certainly got along with the woman, Rebecca certainly wasn't decisive. Anna was afraid she would cave in and listen to the counsellors. Not coming of age for another two years put Anna somewhat in a spot. Her father would listen to her side of things. The counsellors...well, let's just say they were a bit set in their ways.
