Friday Five: thumb, pray, pierce, punish, will

Welcome to this week's Five Word Friday writing prompt. The challenge this week, should you choose to accept it, is to use the following five words: thumb, pray, pierce, punish, will

Sister Mary Francis remembered how,as a child, she would bite her thumb in church to keep quiet in church. She just knew that the nuns would punish her for even a small sound. They insisted she pray to the Jesus on the cross, and they explained that it was because He was pierced that she was forgiven. That it was His will that she should be in church and not make any sounds at all. She was happy when she was able to read the Bible for herself and see how He said, "Let the little children come unto me." He wouldn't mind a little girl's whispers; she was sure about that.
