She stood in the central ring of the Arena of Nimes, nervously fingering the medal in her pocket. Why on earth her lawyer had chosen to meet here of all places eluded her. Granted, the crowd would make it easier for them to speak without the city gossips watching her every move as they have ever since...better not to think of that now. It wouldn't do to break down in tears in the middle of the music festival. That would really give them something to talk about.

Her watch vibrated on her wrist. She'd been waiting a quarter of an hour already. It wasn't like Andre to be late for anything.

The wailing of approaching sirens tore her away from scanning the crowds. Her breath caught in her throat and her stomacn clenched as a sudden dread washed over her.
