Ganina brooded for days, her state of mind not helped by the fact that sleet and snow kept most people inside. Her only relief was to take Gilya to play in the snow or to visit the black pony. He had been ecstatic to be reunited with the pony that he remembered and she could see his father’s love of horses etched in the child. For that matter, she saw his father stamped entirely on him. It was the call of blood, she supposed. He still liked his friend Ifelsten and his toy horses, but he had not forgotten Senec—not for an instant. She did not attempt to dissuade him from spending hours with his father while he healed; a boy needed a father. But she preferred to spend her time elsewhere.
Senec said nothing. He didn’t seem to mind. The only way she knew of his displeasure was his remark when he met with the other men that they did not need her tantrums, and he threw her out. After that she slept in the dressing room with Gilya, but her husband did not seem to mind that either. In short, he paid no attention to her.
When she couldn’t stand it any more, she climbed in bed with him in the middle of the night.
He stirred. “Have you finished?”
“Finished what?”
“Being angry.”
“Probably not,” she replied. “But I have missed you.”
He turned, much more easily than he had done in weeks.
“Then show me.”
“How?” She didn’t think even Senec could make love with his bones broken a short time before. But she had underestimated him.
“This way.” With one hand he lifted her leg over his hip, with the other moved her against his ready arousal. Feeling his hand firmly planted on her backside, she made a sound of pure, unbridled lust and pushed herself onto him. He made love to her for hours, expending himself and then resting, only to wake and start all over again. It was a glut of sex not ending until the dawn, when she slept, exhausted, hands curled against his chest. His will had broken hers and they both knew it.
About the Author: Fantasy poetry driven by myths and legends has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I was published in poetry before catching the romance writing bug. I bring that background to my writing along with a lifelong addiction to horses, an 18 year career in various areas of psychiatric social services and many trips to Ireland, where I nurture my muse. My published works range from contemporary fantasy romance to fantasy historical, futuristic, science fiction and historical romance. Currently I live in rural Pennsylvania with a “motley crew” of rescue animals.
