We had some children playing with a new toy in the library (a tic-tac-toe game played with bean bags)--about 4 children, ages about 4-6. They eventually started tossing the bean bags at each other instead of at the game. When they were asked to stop, one of the boys said, "Why? We're just playing whack-a-girl. It's fun."
Needless to say, the girl involved was giving back just as much as she was getting... but the game was still called "over." LOL
By the way... we're looking for other games that would work well in the library--- play is so important to success in early literacy programs. Any ideas? I've thought of a Fisher-Price playhouse and we've started a LEGO club... I'm up for suggestions of what YOUR library does.
