William Shakespeare is Coming to Tifton!!

CELEBRATING THE BARD'S BIRTHDAY

Monday, April 23, is the date that has traditionally been used to celebrate William Shakespeare's birthday. This week, Tifton is celebrating it on Thursday, April 26, with some exciting opportunities.

From 4:30-5:30 PM at the Tifton-Tift County Public Library, the Georgia Humanities Council will provide a workshop on Shakespearean stagecraft. Participants should be between the ages of 7 and 18. Things that will be covered include costuming, acting, sword-fighting, life in 1611 England, and the Globe Theater.

There will also be a performance by Georgia Shakespeare at Tift Theatre, downtown, at 7 PM. This is FREE for all ages! Will’s World is an introduction to the world of Shakespeare through the eyes of the master himself! This interactive journey through the life and times of the world’s greatest playwright shows us how Will’s environment helped to shape both his life and his plays. Join us as the young William Shakespeare grows up to become the immortal bard before our very eyes!

Hope to see you there!!
