I was able to get in touch with Karen in time, so all's good there. I'm going to let her choose from my Amazon wish list because of two things-- one, I love surprises and two, I hate making decisions. It's a match made in heaven.
We caught some interesting fish the last few days we went out...not a lot of "good" fish. A PILE of slimy catfish (including a large one), Bob caught an eel, a stingray, and a nice sheepshead. We had seafood for supper last nice. There's not much better than eating seafood that was swimming in the ocean just a short time previously.
I have some LASR work and some editing to do today, so I leave you with our fishing gallery. I hope you enjoy them. We certainly enjoyed catching them :-)
Big slimey sailcat, so named because of the large fin on his back. They are the worse to catch...fun, but they are not good eating fish and they leave a slime all over everything they touch. They are the only things I know of that make my strong husband shudder and go "ewwwwwwwwww"!
A small stingray Bob caught. They are fascinating to me to look at, but that long tail is powerful and can cause damage, so we stayed far away from it when we let him go.
We did not let this beauty go. In fact, he was our featured guest at supper last night. He wasn't a record, but at twenty inches and over four pounds, he was a very respectable member of the sheepshead family (so named because they have teeth that looks like sheeps' teeth. I should have taken pictures of them, but I forgot.)
