Appetizer
When someone smiles at you, do you smile back? Of course. Of course, this might be because I don't live in a big city. I've heard that's just "not done" in larger cities. It's one reason I don't think I want to live in a larger city. Southerners are just friendly... it's expected. And...when we go someplace where people AREN'T as open, they come across as cold or unfriendly.

Describe the flooring in your home. Do you have carpet, hardwood, vinyl, a mix? Definitely a mix. Starting at the front door, our foyer is ceramic tile. Dirctly to the left is our den...carpeted, with slate in front of the fireplace. If you step up from the den at the far end, you go into the kitchen/dining room area..which right now has linoleum. That's one of our future projects... it will be tiled. Leaving the kitchen (and going from the end of the foyer), the hallway is also linoleum with a faux parque design. That also goes into the laundry room (at the end of that hall). The "downstairs living room"...it used to be a carport... is carpetted. We already have the hardwood to put down there. HOWEVER, I don't want to replace that carpet with the hardwood until I remodel the laundry room (because everything will end up down there for the process) and I can't do the laundry room until we finish the ongoing saga of the bathrooms!). At the laundry room, the hall makes a 90 degree turn and that section of the hallway is carpetted. The bedrooms are off it... two on the right (the kids'... also carpetted) with a bath on the left (linoleum but in desperate need of tile and remodeling). On the left is our bedroom (carpet) and our bathroom off it... with nothing on the floor except cementboard.. waiting patiently for ITS tile. And now you know WAY more than you wanted about the way my house is laid out!

Write a sentence with only 5 words, but all of the words have to start with the first letter of your first name. Judy's just joyously jangling jewels.
Main Course
Do you know anyone whose life has been touched by adoption? Yes, my cousin and her husband adopted their children. They were unable to have any of their own.

I liked the meander through your home! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat feast! I'm having fun reading everyone's Salad. How interesting they all are. I had a hard time with mine, "K".
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful reading all the adoption stories.
Come on over and feast with me.
Thanks for the home tour... it was actually quite interesting. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one needing to finish projects. I removed the wallpaper from my bathroom and the main bath in the hall before I knew what I wanted to do to the walls and they are still bare and becoming impatient waiting on me! OUCH!
ReplyDeleteTerrific salad!
Have a great weekend and please drop by my feast if you can!
