Home from Vacation

We had a wonderful time while we were gone! I wanted to share some of our vacation with you, because if you ever get the chance to go to northern Alabama, I heartily recommend it. If you like the mountains, but don't like the crowds and traffic that surround so many of the more popular areas, you would do well to give this area a try.

Several months ago, Bob was looking for something special for us to do for our anniversary. We'd spent our honeymoon in the mountains, but had not gotten a chance to go back. We knew we didn't want to go to the North Georgia mountains...the traffic is horrendous and Bob doesn't suffer fools on the highway easily. He found The Rooster's Rest and made reservations...prepaying. His reasoning, "If we go ahead and pay for it then, no matter how busy we happen to be when the time gets here, we'll still go so we don't lose that money." And... it worked! (We may do that on all our vacations from now on... just go ahead and prepay the accomodations.)

We stayed in the smaller cabin and opened the door to a flickering electric fireplace and Kenny G playing softly. The one-room cabin was tastefully furnished and very comfortable for two people. If you are taking your family, you would want to request this cabin.

Our hosts were just wonderful. Donna knew it was our anniversary, so she had a few special surprises for us. There was a basket of muffins and fresh fruit waiting for us, as well as....

If you want to stay within driving distance of a ton of things to do, I highly recommend The Rooster's Rest.

I'll be sharing some more of our adventures during the week, but don't want to overload you with pictures and commentary all on one day ;-)

Have you checked out LASR yet this week? Patti Shenberger is giving away not one, but THREE, prizes in this week's contest. You can't win, though, if you don't go enter. So...what are you waiting for?

I'm way behind on my Marianne quizzes. I might get caught up one day this week and have a "quiz day" (I know you are all looking forward to that!)

Who comes up with these things?????? So weird. I'm going to try one of the ones I missed over the weekend..maybe it will be more accurate. (It certainly can't be LESS accurate!)

What Your Halloween Habits Say About You

You're a friendly person, but not the life of the party. You like making someone else's day - and you'll dress up if you think of a really fun costume.

You're weird. You're downright deviant. And you use dressing up in a costume as an excuse to act out.

Your inner child is open minded, playful, and adventurous.

Your fears are irrational and varied. It's hard to predict what you may be afraid of on any given day.

You're prone to be quite emotional and over dramatic. Deep down, you enjoy being scared out of your mind... even if you don't admit it.

You are picky and high maintenance. If you wear a Halloween costume, it's only when you really feel like it. And it has to be perfect.

Emotional and over-dramatic? Okay.. I'll buy that. One day when I was a kid, my cousin and I were walking up at the lake and passed a ratty old house. We proceeded to make up a story about the man who lived there. Of course, when we heard rustling in the woods that sounded like it was following us, we were convinced the man had heard us and was following us, so we ran home terrified. We got in so much troule for scaring ourselves.

The rest... okay... playful, weird (but maybe not deviant!), making other people's days... I can deal with those.

But, some of the others? I'm definitely not high maintenance. And, I'm not afraid of anything (except how often Marianne and I get the exact same answer to these quizzes!!!

How did you do on the quizzes?
