Friday's Feast

Happy Friday the 13th. And, welcome to a new addition of Friday's Feast. Pull up a chair and dig in! Friday's Feast is a meme of five questions cooked up by the chef each and every week. Enjoy!

Appetizer
What is your favorite fruit? My favorite fruit is actually one I haven't eaten in a long time, because I've not found it here. When I lived in Brazil, I was introduced to maracujá. Those of you who know me well may recognize the word (minus the accent) as part of my email address. If anyone knows where I can get the golden passionfruit here, please let me know.

Soup
Who is someone you consider as a great role model? My mom was my greatest role model when I was a young mom. She raised two girls on a very limited income and did a great job. Whenever we had a few extra dollars, instead of going to the movies or something like that, she would invest in board games. Those we could enjoy more evenings than just one. I tried to be the kind of mom to my kids that my mom was to me.

Salad
If you were to spend one night anywhere within an hour of your home, where would you choose? Probably Waycross, just because it's within an hour and only an hour away from Savannah. Then I could go the next morning to visit my friend, Margie.

Main Course
Name something you do too often. Eat. 'Nuff said.

Dessert
Fill in the blank: I really like ___________ because ____________.
I really like Friday's Feast because I meet really neat people.

If you decide to play along this week, leave a comment here and prepare for company. :-)

  7. Enjoyed reading your feast. The fruit you mention sounds really interesting - you used to be able to buy an alcoholic drink with that name here in SA. Your mom sounds a wonderful lady!

  11. I think you were very successful in being that kind of mom to your children. :) They are all good kids. About the maracuja...I'd ask Sergio to bring you some, but I don't think customs would allow it. Oh well. Have a great weekend.
