We Have a Winner--- and a Loser

The winner of the high score April Fools' Day quiz is Tori Lennox. Congratulations, Tori. I'll email you a list of books from my library so you can choose which one you like.

The loser... well, it's come to my attention that Barbara Bauer is on the move again. Now she's suing EVERYBODY... well, a lot of people anyway. Here is the actual detail page of the suit. The defendants are:

ANN C. CRISPIN DF
CHRISTINA WALDEN DF
DAVID L. KUZMINSKI DF
JAMES D. MACDONALD DF
JENNA GLATZER DF
KENT BREWSTER DF
LESIA VALENTINE DF
MACALLIST E. STONE DF
MISS SNARK LITERARY AGENT DF
PATRICK NIELSEN-HAYDEN DF
SCIENCE FICTN/FW OF AM INC DF
SHWETA NARAYAN DF
STEPHAN SPENCER DF
TERESA NIELSEN-HAYDEN DF
THOMAS S. TULLY DF
VICTORIA C. STRAUSS DF
WIKIMEDIA FOUNDATION DF

And, unfortunately, Writer Beware is gone. We will miss them and can only hope that something steps up to take their place. We writers need someone out there to help us help ourselves. Thank goodness we still have Editors & Preditors. Uh, Dave, we DO still have E&P, right???

EDITED TO ADD: Okay, now my face is red. Mark me "gotten" (I always said there was a visible-to-anyone-but-me sign on my forehead that said, "Gullible," and now everyone has proof). Ann and Victoria were playing an April Fools' Joke and I admit it freely (I might as well since it's here in public for all to see... sheesh!), I fell for it. The lawsuit, however, is no joke. You can check it out yourself by going to the public record. This is the home page for the state of New Jersey court system. This is the link for the "Discovery End Date Search Page." The venue is "Monmouth," the case name is Bauer etal vs Glazter etal. And, may I just say, I'm glad April 1 only comes once a year? I don't like everyone KNOWING how blonde I am!!!

    Oh, thanks!!! I still can't believe I got such a high score. I guess I'm a good guesser. *g*

I saw this morning, by the way, that Writer Beware ISN'T gone. It was an April Fool's prank. (This is one of the reasons I hate April Fool's.)

  2. Don't feel too badly. I got taken in once or twice myself.

  3. Congrats to Toru for winning your contest.

We don't take note of April Fool's Day here but interesting how some people like the idea of playing pranks. I guess it's alright as long as the prank is not harmful in any way.

On another note, I would like to thank you for answering the question on my blog. It's a pleasure meeting you through Friday's Feast. Yes, I fondly remember that you ordered Topless Sandals online. I loved my Topless Sandals and it had a good "life". When I wore it, people would wander about my almost bare feet and I enjoyed their amazement. It is not yet available here until now. My Topless Sandals has gotten a little overused but I'm sure I can still wear them. It's summer here and they would certainly look perfect with my capris.

BTW, It's Holy Week and the Philippines has a long holiday so I'll be mailing your postcard next week. Take care!
