Today is a lazy Monday... so lazy that I'm stealing today's post from Marianne. Go by, tell her hello, and let her know I sent you.
Meme One: Question of the Day
How many keys are on your key chain right now? Do you know what each one of them opens?
I have a kajillion keys on my keychain. And... I DO know what each means, because I am the chatelaine and while I don't wear a chatelaine, I do carry a lot of keys. Let's see... I have to get them out so I don't forget any. I have five key tabbie things... you know...from stores and such. I have the key to our house, the key to our shop, our post office box key, a key to the toolbox on the back of my truck, the key to the toolbox on the back of the work truck (which doesn't work any more because some ^^&*&%&%^% broke in last week and stole THREE chain saws), two keys to the Explorer (lock and ignition), key to my truck, key to the work truck, key to the bucket truck, key to the dump truck, our motorcycle key. And that's just on one key ring. Then I have a key ring with my mom's keys and one for the place in Florida. Oh... and a key chain with all the keys for the concession stand (does anyone want to buy a concession stand??)
Meme Two: Monday's a Bitch
Last Week
Looking back on this past week what was...
1.The best meal you had?
I can't remember an outstanding meal. I did enjoy the fact that Mama came over and cooked for us on Wednesday night. It was nice not having to come up with something after working all day.
2.The highlight for you?
We got to leave Friday morning to come down to the coast. It's been way too long since we were able to get away.
3.The lowlight?
Waking up Tuesday morning to find out someone had broken into our truck and stolen some chainsaws.
4.Your latest night?
Wednesday night. I just couldn't sleep. I finally was able to go to sleep about 4 AM Thursday morning.
5.Did you see any movies last week? If so, how would you rate them on a scale of 1-10?
No movies in the theater. We really enjoy Fox Movie Channel and Turner Classic Movies. The TV at home is more likely to be tuned to one of those than any other channel. The cable was out at the shore this weekend, so we rented some movies. We really enjoyed The Illusionist. Edward Norton really impressed me... so much so we rented another one with him in it, The Score. I knew, after watching him in The Score I'd seen him before but couldn't figure out where I knew him from. Thank goodness for IMDB. He was also in Primal Fear and I remembered him from that. More information than you really wanted? Oh, well.
Meme Three: The Monday Melee
The Monday Melee
1. The Misanthropic: Name something (about humanity) you absolutely hate.
People who are cruel. Every day in the paper there are cases of cruelty to animals, to children, to other people. What is it about people that make them want to do things like that? I don't understand.
2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.
Hmmmm. I don't think I know anyone personally like this. I tend to believe the best in people. The only thing I can think of (and she's been exposed a multitude of times) is Barbara Bauer.
3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.
Cold weather. I'm ready for summer.
4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
My friend, Marianne. She's my "writing conscience" and keeps me on task... she has a wicked whip.
5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it.
I think I'm a good listener and a good friend.
6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for.
To become a best-selling novelist with a pile of money so we can buy our waterfront lot in Apalachicola. Guess that means I better finish my book, huh?
Happy Monday~!

Edward Norton was actually up for a best supporting actor oscar for Primal Fear (wasn't he GREAT in that?) but lost to Cuba Gooding, Jr. ("Show me the mon-eeeee").
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I can retain that information, but can't remember the color of my heroine's eyes in my latest WIP.
Speaking of WIPs (or whips, whichever) -- how's Fiona? :-)
oh oh, you've turned that QOTD into a meme, better not let indigo find out, there's going to be trouble, that's all i'm saying!!!
ReplyDeletei just recently discovered that turner classic movie station, i LOVE IT!!! but why are all the good movies i want to see on at 3am??? i have noticed i do have to keep checking the rotation, because eventually, they do come on at noon, but it's usually when i'm out walking the dog, so i'm still missing the really good stuff.
Hi... Thanks for stopping by and your comments on the forum that lifted my concert review. I wasn't really upset, just kind of surprised. Especially by the way they just dropped in the whole thing, including Maria's comment, with no explanation!
ReplyDeleteHope things warm up for you!
I totally stole two of these memes, by the way :-)
ReplyDeleteRight now I have only 3 keys on my keychain. DH hates it when there's too many on them. He says the weight will eventually bend the key when it's in the ignition. Huh?
ReplyDeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting your BLOG. I'll be back often.
Roger
All of those keys open a door somewhere ...
