Sorry for not posting this week, but I've been recovering from a wonderful Christmas. All the kids were here.
It was a blast. Of course, it's also tiring, so Tuesday and Wednesday I spent recovering (it's funny how it takes longer to recover from things when you are older, isn't it?) and yesterday I started to take down Christmas. I know, I know...it's "way too early." I LOVE Christmas... I want to start decorating the Friday after (we spend Thanksgiving weekend in Charleston, SC, every year, though, so it doesn't get started 'til Monday normally). On the flipside, though, once Christmas is over... it's over and I want my house back. So... I'm nearly finished with that. And, I remembered today was Friday, so... with no further ado, here's the latest installment of Friday's Feast.
Appetizer
How do you usually celebrate on New Year's Eve? We don't have a "usually." Sometimes we'll go down to a friend's... he always has a cookout New Year's Eve. Other times we'll go to the club and celebrate there. This year we're thinking about doing one of those "hotel deals" where you get the party, dinner, and a room. I'll let you know when we know :-)
Soup
Name one thing unexpected that happened to you in 2006. I won first place in a writing contest. It was very exciting.
Salad
Where was your favorite place that you visited in 2006? Our place in Eastpoint. We don't get down there nearly as often as we would like to, but it's a wonderful get-away.
Main Course
What resolution is your top priority for 2007? My writing. DH gave me several writing books I'd been wanting (thank heavens for Amazon and their wish list!) and is encouraging me to finish what I've started. I have two short stories I am planning on getting off before the end of the year and then buckling down to one of the novels. Not sure which one, though.
Dessert
Using just three words, describe 2006. friend-filled, fun, fulfilling
