The men shook their heads, trying to clear the fuzziness that was threatening to overtake them. The Green Sister was right. Whatever was going on, falling asleep would be the worse thing that could happen to them right now.
The three of them trudged along in silence. GS didn't know about the men, but she was having difficulty lifting her feet. She knew it must be an affect of whatever it was Nancy was doing, but she didn't seem to be able to shake it off.
As Mark and Lee moved ahead of her, she leaned against the wall of the cave just for a moment. The next thing she knew, she was no longer in the cave but standing in a brightly colored hall.
She looked around and saw her best friends from high school, the group known as "Writers Incorporated": Lianne, Maria, Pam, Trish, Vivian, Joanna, and Alison. They used to get in so much trouble together... so much so their teachers would say that, contrary to belief, eight is indeed enough. What were they all doing there? She looked down at herself and noticed that instead of her Green Sister outfit, she was dressed in her favorite jeans and top from senior year. Taking a careful look at her friends, who were sitting around on beanbags eating M&Ms and popcorn, she realized they all looked the same as they did in high school as well, instead of the professional, pulled together authors they all were now. In a flash, she was aware that somehow Nancy the Black had pulled her into a dream, but how? And why?
