The Adventures of the Green Sister

The Green Sister, aka Janna Thomaston, sat crosslegged at the coffee table eating her favorite snack with her faithful hedgehog, Clarence, sitting beside the plate. He stuck his nose into her Banana Cream Pie and she pushed him away from her plate. Unfortunately, she pushed too hard and he fell off the table onto one of the many soft pillows that surrounded it, and curled tightly into a ball.

"Oh, you poor thing," she cooed, as she jumped up, upsetting the table and sending pie, paper plate and cutlery scattered on the tile floor.

"Drat!" she said, scooping up Clarence and kicking the debris out of the way.

At that moment, the cell phone on her belt vibrated. She snatched it from its holder and listened intently for a moment before she hung up, not saying a word.

"It's Nancy the Black, again," she said to Clarence, who had unrolled and was cuddled against Janna's chest. "You'll have to stay here, this time, though. Last time you almost got frozen when you got between us."

She deposited him on his pillow at the foot of her bed, donned her chain cape, and hurried out to the garage to her magnetic bike. Hopefully, this time Nancy would not escape her blazing finger.
